The first exhibition, “Nucleu 0010. Inopportune Encounters,” launched a series of collaborations between artists from the Nucleu group and those with studios provided by the Union of Visual Artists from Romania (UAPR) with very affordable rents.

The first four Inopportune Encounters exhibitions resulted from the documentation visits of three artist-studio locations in Bucharest, one building in Râmnicu Vâlcea, and several locations in Arad. For our fifth exhibition, we visited Timișoara, where we chose 4 local artists that received studios from the Union to partner with 3 local artists and 1 from Bucharest that do not have studios from the Union of Artists, and the results of the collaborations were exhibited at the central gallery in the city, Galeria Park in Timișoara.

This curatorial program highlights a critical issue for the contemporary art scene: the increasingly limited access to affordable creative spaces. Framed as a manifesto, it establishes a platform for dialogue and solidarity, centered on the studio as an essential space for creation, reflection, and experimentation.
